Painters Adelaide Hills
The Hills are harsh on paint. 40°C summers, sub-zero winters, eucalypt sap, bushfire exposure. Our Hills crew uses elastomeric systems rated for the temperature range with proper bushfire upgrades where needed.
Adelaide Hills painting, done properly
Standard acrylic paint doesn't last in the Hills. The temperature swing stresses the paint film. Contraction in winter, expansion in summer, repeat for years. Cracks develop, moisture gets behind, and the paint lets go.
We spec elastomeric coatings rated for -5°C to 50°C on Hills exteriors. They stretch with the substrate. Bridge hairline cracks. Shrug off UV. 10-15 year life versus 3-5 for standard exterior acrylic in the same conditions.
On north elevations we add UV-resistant top glaze. On south and shaded walls we add anti-mould treatment. On bushfire-zone properties we spec fire-retardant primers and paint-over fire-retardant coatings as required.
